A kitchen renovation combines made-to-measure furniture, installations and appliances in a space that is usually in intensive daily use, and each of those parts deserves its own item in the quote.
Installations before the furniture
Plumbing (sink, dishwasher, sometimes a fridge with a water connection), electrics (independent circuits for oven, hob, dishwasher, and enough general-use sockets at the worktop) and, if changing to an induction hob or gas cooker, the corresponding adaptation, must be resolved before installing the furniture.
Furniture and worktop
Kitchen units (base, wall, tall) are quoted by linear metres and finish range, while the worktop is a separate item whose price varies greatly with the material (laminate, compact quartz, natural stone).
Appliances
Oven, hob, extractor hood, dishwasher and fridge (if replaced) often represent a very significant part of the total quote, and it's worth clarifying from the start whether they are included in the renovation price or supplied separately by the client.
Wall and floor coverings
Tiling of the kitchen splashback (or its lacquered glass alternative) and the floor, if changed, complete the project. Coordinating the furniture measurements well with the covering avoids last-minute adjustments that make the job dearer.
