Sprayed polyurea is one of the most expensive waterproofing systems on the market, but it offers properties no other conventional system matches, and knowing when to recommend it avoids both unjustified extra costs and insufficient solutions.
Why it is so fast
It is applied with hot-spray equipment by certified professionals, and cures within seconds of application, which lets the surface be operational in a minimum of time compared with systems that need days of curing between coats. In projects where downtime is critical (industrial units in operation, roofs of premises that cannot close), that speed justifies much of the extra cost.
Superior mechanical and chemical resistance
Polyurea forms a seamless layer of great elasticity and resistance to abrasion, impact and chemicals, far superior to a conventional liquid membrane or standard asphalt sheet. It is used in industrial tanks, high-traffic roofs and surfaces exposed to aggressive products.
When it doesn't pay off
On a standard domestic terrace without special traffic or chemical-resistance demands, the extra cost of polyurea over a conventional liquid membrane is rarely justified. It is a high-performance solution for projects with equally high requirements, not the default option for any waterproofing.
