Quoting a made-to-measure shower enclosure means combining several decisions: frame type, glass thickness and opening system, each with a direct impact on the final price.

Framed or frameless

An enclosure with a full aluminium frame is the cheapest option and the simplest to install, with the glass held and guided by the frame along its whole travel. A frameless system, where the glass is practically bare with only point fittings, needs thicker glass (to make up for the lack of frame reinforcement) and is noticeably more expensive, both in material and in installation precision.

Glass thickness by system

An enclosure with a full frame can work well with 6 mm glass; a frameless system, lacking the structural reinforcement of the frame, usually needs 8 or 10 mm to ensure enough rigidity, which raises both the weight and the price of the panel.

Sliding or hinged: impact on fittings

A sliding enclosure needs top and bottom tracks with sliding wheels, while a hinged one needs quality hinges able to carry the weight of the glass over time without sagging. The system chosen determines a good part of the fittings cost of the project.
