Neither standard nor conventional moisture-resistant board is designed for outdoors or for areas with extreme, continuous damp: for those cases there is a specific family of boards worth knowing before wrongly quoting a project.
Why normal moisture-resistant board isn't enough outdoors
Moisture-resistant (green) board copes well with the ambient humidity of a bathroom or kitchen, but its gypsum core isn't prepared for direct, continuous exposure to rainwater or to constant extreme damp, such as open porches, covered exteriors or spa areas with intense steam.
Cement board: the solution for outdoors
Cement board (with a reinforced cement core instead of gypsum) withstands direct exposure to water, wet-dry cycles and doesn't degrade like gypsum in prolonged contact with water. It is the recommended option for external linings, shower tray bases or indoor pool areas.
Cost compared with standard board
Cement board is noticeably more expensive than standard plasterboard or even moisture-resistant board, and is also heavier and somewhat harder to cut and handle, which also increases labour time. Quoting it as a separate item avoids unfair comparisons with conventional plasterboard prices.
