There are two very different routes to a natural lawn: sowing seed or laying turf (ready-grown lawn in rolls), and choosing one or the other depends mainly on how much of a hurry the client is in and how much budget they want to invest.
Sowing: cheaper, slower
Sowing seed is the cheapest option per m², but the result takes several weeks to look thick and be usable, and during that time it needs frequent watering and special care so the seed germinates properly without being washed away by heavy rain or eaten by birds.
Turf: instant lawn, more expensive
Turf is laid like a carpet of ready-grown lawn, giving an immediate visual result that can be walked on within a few days once rooted. Its cost per m² is considerably higher than sowing, both for the material itself and the transport logistics (turf must be laid fresh, within a short time after being cut at the nursery).
When to recommend each option
Turf is the right option when the client has an event coming up, little patience to wait weeks, or a problem surface (slope, erosion) where seed has more risk of not rooting well. Sowing remains the most reasonable choice for anyone not in a hurry who puts budget first.
